Provides information about countries, which has been compiled by the CIA. The fact book includes information about population, government structure, the environment, industry, and communication of each country.

Anatomy Atlases

Collection of atlases covering general anatomy, anatomy in cross-section, microscopic anatomy, anatomy of first aid, and human anatomic variation. The site is "intended primarily for use by Medical Students, Residents, Fellows, or Attending Physicians studying anatomy." Written by anatomy professors.

Features 1247 engravings of the human body, as well as a subject index with 13,000 entries.

This 2002 publication provides an overview of tobacco consumption and promotion around the world. Includes facts and statistics on topics such as a history of tobacco usage, male and female smoking, health risks, passive smoking and children, deaths, costs to the economy and to smokers, tobacco manufacturing and companies, advertising, research, legislation limiting smoking areas, litigation, and more. Includes four main entry points to access information: about the oceans, uses of the oceans, issues, and geography.

Aboriginal Language Dictionary

part of the WWW Virtual Library project, this site contains links to dictionaries for many of the more than 200 Australian Aboriginal languages. Also has links to vocabulary, wordlists and place names.

Biographical Dictionary

Contains biographical information on over 27,000 people from ancient times to the present day.

The Blogosphere's Dictionary.  This informal site includes dozens of definitions for terms used in the blogosphere ("the entirety of the blogging community"), such as troll, pingback, permalink, and link love. Updated at least weekly. From Telian Adlam, a blogger who maintains a variety of blogs.
