  Small Change: Bonded Child Labour in India's Silk Industry 

This 2003 report discusses human rights concerns with children working as bonded labourers ("bound to their employers in exchange for a loan") in the silk industry in India. It provides background on the India's silk industry (including sari weaving) and the conditions under which children work in the industry, and recommendations for changes and improvements. From Human Rights Watch, an organization that investigates and challenges human rights violations.

From Himalayan villages to Eastern European cities, people – especially women and girls – are attracted by the prospect of a well-paid job as a domestic servant, waitress or factory worker. Traffickers recruit victims through fake advertisements, mail-order bride catalogues and casual acquaintances.
